At First City Flash, we have a team of experienced coaches who are dedicated to helping young athletes develop their basketball skills and reach their full potential. Our coaching staff is made up of passionate and knowledgeable individuals who are committed to teaching the fundamentals of basketball, increasing knowledge of the game, and developing local talent.
LUCY MCINTYRE
HEAD COACH 15U
My name is Lucy McIntyre, or Coach Lucy. I am a proud mother to 9 adopted children. I am a Social Worker and Professor at The University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, KS. I am passionate about youth development and strengthening my community. I am also incredibly passionate about basketball.

I played basketball from age 7 through 18, including select club, AAU, and High School Varsity. As I entered college, I chose to focus on other interests and my competitive basketball career ended. I started the First City Flash with my wife and the support of other local coaches and parents to give youth in the Leavenworth area the opportunity to play basketball at a high level and create pathways to play at higher levels.

As a coach, my focus is on developing basketball IQ, mastering the fundamentals, and increasing individual skills. Teamwork and sportsmanship are core values that I instill in my players and fellow coaches.
KAT MCINTYRE
HEAD COACH 14U
Hi I am Coach Kat. I believe basketball is the best sport in the world. When I was a young girl, I was given the opportunity to be a ball girl for the Big 12 Championship. That was all it took to get me hooked on basketball. I knew I wanted to play basketball in college, so I did.

I played college basketball at Avila University and went on to play rugby at the University of Missouri. I believe in physical play and bringing the energy. My goal for my players is to gain the confidence and skill needed to meet their goals.

In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my kids, rescuing animals, and helping my community. You might catch me cheering loudly at the KC Current games!
